About Me

I'm a 32 year old mom. A little over a year ago, I came up with a list of improvements I wanted to make to my life. This blog will highlight one of them, which is weight loss. I've tried to lose weight conventional ways from diets to a gym membership and even prescriptions. Nothing has worked long term and I have opted for weight loss surgery. This blog will highlight my journey to a disappearing me.

My starting weight was 286 lbs, my highest weight ever.  My surgeon wanted me to start a liquid protein diet.  I am on 1000 calories a day, doing 2 protein shakes and 1 meal consisting of a lean protein and a vegetable or salad.  I started the diet on 10/29/10 weighing 285 lbs.

My Weight Loss Must Haves

Single serve blender - my preference is Magic Bullet, but I sold mine and got a GE one from Walmart that so far works very similar.  This blends the shakes so they aren't so gritty.  You can also use them to chop ice and makes it like a Starbucks Frappucino.

Nestle Decaf Instant Tea - makes for a great treat when you just can't handle any more water.

Sugar Free Hawaiian Punch Singles - my husband took a sip and asked, "Are you sure these are sugar free?"  You are supposed to use one pouch per 16 oz disposable water bottle, but I find that's too strong.  I use one pouch in my 24 ounce sports bottle and would have preferred one per 32 ounces.
